Margin Notes

Margin Notes is the solo ambient project of a session player who, by their own account, “never finished a song, only annotated it.” Built entirely from quarter-inch tape loops, a broken cassette four-track, and the hum of a furnace in a basement studio, the music sounds like the part of a record you’d skip if it weren’t the only part left.

Where OWNER/OPERATORS steers its own wreckage, Margin Notes pulls over and writes in the margins of the map. Debut EP Field Recordings from the Margins collects four long pieces named after footnotes that lead nowhere.
