The Imprint

Pinecone Records is the release imprint of Rack & Pinecone LLC, a company registered in the State of Idaho and operated from a desk in Boise. The LLC has been a few things over the years - a freelance shingle, a holding pen for projects. This is the part that puts out records.

Calling it a “record label” used to be generous - one artist and a great deal of paperwork. There’s a roster now. Whether everyone on it strictly exists is a question we’ve chosen not to litigate; the records play either way. OWNER/OPERATORS - the metamodern post-punk project of Eric Eaglstun, Caleb Ebe, and Mike Shumann - is the one we’ll swear to under oath. The rest keep it good company.

What the imprint actually does hasn’t changed: assign a catalog number, hold the masters, file the release, keep the records - real, invented, or somewhere honest in between. That last part is rather the point.

The imprint sits inside a wider quiet constellation - sites, characters, and digital artifacts orbiting the music. You don’t need any of it to hear the record. It’s there if you go looking.
